Ceci is a self-taught artist based in Barcelona, whose work is deeply influenced by the expressive power of art when dealing with emotion, her Scottish upbringing in nature, and the humour and resilience of the human spirit. Blending surrealism, abstraction, and figurative elements, her paintings draw from multiple cultures, street art, cinema, and the vibrant music and art of Africa and South/Central America.
Her creative process is fluid and intuitive - pieces emerge rapidly, then evolve slowly. Working mainly with acrylics, spray paint, markers, inks and more, she channels emotion through her use of bold colours, layered textures, and movement, to explore the often chaotic nature of human expression.
Driven by her love of intense colour and free-form expression, Ceci paints to capture joy, contemplation, and emotional turbulence. Using fiery hues and simplified symbols, she paints to express hidden emotions, the unspoken truths of everyday humanity, and masks we wear in public life.
She works to create art that invites reflection, and connection, through our own chaotic humanity.
